Tura Beach Photography Club - Latest News

Notes from Meeting Sunday 12 February

For those who couldn't make it to the meeting, here are the main points:

Guest Speaker

Our guest speaker for the night was Sam Nerrie.  Sam talked about the things that inspire her photography in the local area, how she 'chases' some photos (especially those involving coming storms) and gave some very helpful tips to budding photographers on how to be ready for great photographing opportunities.

Sam's PowerPoint presentation illustrated some of her work, including several photos which have won places in international competitions.  There's no doubt that Sam's work is an inspiration to others and we were fortunate to have her spend the time with us.

Sam also runs training courses, details for which are on her website.

Photos from The Boardwalk

Several members took the opportunity to share a selection of their photos from the outing to The Boardwalk.  In addition to bringing photos on thumbdrives, some people had loaded their photos onto the club's Flickr site.  If you haven't done so yet, respond to Joe Fitzpatrick's invitation which will give you access to Flickr, or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Many other photography clubs highlight the benefits obtained from reviewing members' photographs.  It was agreed that for future meetings, club members could volunteer any photograph for analysis and feedback.  This could be done either by specifying the photo on Flickr as one the person would be happy to have others comment on, or during the next meeting.

The club's website contains an article on the things to look for in a photograph.

Next Photo Shoot Outing

It was agreed that this be at Panboola Wetlands, Pambula.  We'll meet at 7pm at the carpark on Sunday, 26 February (weather permitting).
